Do
you wake up in the morning with Sore Heels?
·Pain on the bottom of the heel
·Pain that is usually worse upon arising
·Pain that increases over a period of months
The most common cause of burning pain in the heel is caused by an
inflammation or micro tearing of the tough fibrous band of tissue that
runs the length of the bottom of your foot. You may feel the pain after
you walk but not necessarily when you walk.
Have you ever felt pain in the bottoms of your feet first thing in the
morning that seems to get better as the day wears on? Those first ten
steps you take in the morning are usually the most uncomfortable.
Do you
experience pain when standing after sitting for
a while?
Well many of these symptoms are caused by your arches in the foot
collapsing as we age thus causing the foot to lengthen. If you think
about your foot with an arch, then the distance from the heel to toes
will be shorter compared to a foot that
has flattened its arches.
Internally on the bottom of the foot we have a tissue called the
plantar
fascia,
this tissue is similar to a piece of rope that doesn’t like to stretch.
Generally
as you walk and stand on your feet they will flatten thus causing the
plantar fascia (rope) to become over-stretched and torn. When we rest
the plantar fascia tries to repair however when we walk and stand we
normally re tear the tissue thus patients
can be afflicted by this intense pain for months and sometimes years.
In most
situations only a custom made orthotic will help correct your feet,
reducing pain and discomfort by enhancing your body’s natural arches and
movements.
Custom
made orthotic look like insoles, but are biomechanical medical
appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance.
Orthotics work on your feet much like custom made glasses work on your
eyes – they reduce stress and strain on your body by bringing your feet
back into proper alignment. Orthotics fit into your shoes as comfortably
as an insole – and they have the advantage of having been made from
precise measurements of your gait (the way you walk).
Orthotics Works provides innovative, comfortable orthotics that are a
pleasure to wear as they gently reduce problems associated with pressure
points, muscle strain and abnormal forces on the ankles, knees, hips and
spine. Over time, custom orthotic support that is prescribed will bring
you relief from fatigue and pain, allowing you to enjoy daily activities
comfortably.
